The Deputy Head of the Etzion Bloc Regional Council, Moshe Savile, demanded that Highway 65 in the Etzion Bloc be closed off to Arab traffic, following the car terror attack at the Alon Shvut Junction Thursday. "This is a difficult day for the Etzion Bloc," he said. "Terrorists are trying to cut off life in the Etzion Bloc, just a few days after the serious car terror attack in Jerusalem."
"The terrorist came from the direction of Kfar Etzion Square, swerved across the road and plowed forcefully into a group of students who were standing at the station and waiting for a bus," he said.
"There have been soldiers guarding the junction for a long time, on both sides of the junction," he noted. "They are here almost 24 hours a day. The subject is currently under military investigation, regarding the way the soldiers reacted, but our conclusion is that the guard is not enough. The entry of Palestinians into places where so many people pass must be barred. People jog here, walk here, live here, drive here. This is a demand we raised with the military after the previous terror attacks.”
"The Jewish nation, throughout the ages, whenever it was harmed, it responded with something strong, something positive. We expect that the response will be construction and strengthening the settlement enterprise – and of course, bringing security back to the residents of Gush Etzion.”

Four teenage boys have been wounded after being run over by a Palestinian Arab motorist in a car terror attack, at the entrance to the town of Alon Shvut in Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem.
Three of the victims - all 16-year-old students - are all described in light to moderate condition; the fourth is in serious condition.
Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics arrived on the scene and evacuated them to the Shaare Tzedek and Hadassah Medical Centers in the capital.
MDA paramedics Yoni Silman and Abba Richman relayed the scene: "When we got there, we saw at the junction on the side of the road, near a bus stop, three boys of about 16 lying on the ground. They were fully conscious and suffering injuries mainly to the face, the pelvic region, and the lower extremities."
"We gave them emergency first aid and with the help of IDF forces who arrived on the scene we evacuated them to Shaare Tzedek Medical Center and Hadassah Medical Center. One was in moderate condition; the other two light to moderate. They were apparently studying in the area and were on their way home."
The Palestinian driver fled the scene immediately after committing the attack, but was detained by security forces shortly after. A resident of Hevron (Hebron), he is now being interrogated by the Israel Security Agency.

Alon Shvut Junction is the site from which three Israeli teens - Eyal Yifrah, Gilad Sha'er and Naftali Frenkel - were kidnapped and ultimately murdered by Hamas terrorists last summer.
The use of cars and other vehicles as deadly weapons by "lone wolf" Palestinian terrorists has become increasingly frequent over the past year, with several Israelis murdered and dozens injured in a string of similar "car terror" incidents.
In October last year, an attack close to the site of today's incident killed 26-year-old Tekoa resident Dalia Lemkos.
Last month, an attack by an Arab motorist in Jerusalem killed 25-year-old Shalom Sherki and left his date, 20-year-old Shira Klein, in critical condition.

Scene of car terror attack.
In what appears to be the third terror attack against Jews in about 24 hours, an Arab driver plowed down four people Saturday evening on the Kohanim Route in eastern Jerusalem.
MDA medics gave the victims initial care and were evacuating them to Shaarei Tzedek hospital. One of the wounded, reportedly a Border Policewoman, is moderately injured, with wounds to the pelvis and extremities. The others are listed as lightly injured.
The Jerusalem Police Spokeswoman described the attack thus:
"A Skoda car drove from the direction of the Mount of Olives cemetery to the Mukased Hospital. At the Salman al-Farsi junction it drove onto the pavement and hit three policemen. Shots were fired at the car, that kept on driving down Salman al-Farsi. The area was combed and the car that struck the policemen was located. The search continues for the terrorist.”
The car that carried Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat to the location of the attack also came under attack when Arabs threw rocks at it. A rock caused light damage to the car but hurt no one.
A Border Policeman was wounded Saturday after being stabbed by an Arab terrorist outside the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron.
The attacker was shot dead on the spot by other officers.  He was identified as 20-year-old Assad al-Salayma.
His victim was evacuated to Shaarei Tzedek hospital in Jerusalem with stab wounds to his upper body, after receiving emergency first aid at the site, and is in moderate condition.
The incident took place at around 6:15 p.m. at the entrance to the Cave. According to eyewitnesses, the terrorist approached a checkpoint, drew a knife and immediately ran towards a group of border policemen, stabbing one of them repeatedly in the head and torso before being neutralized.
Another terror attack was foiled Friday night, when an Arab youth aged 16 tried to stab a female Border Police officer at the A-Zaim checkpoint in eastern Jerusalem. Policemen at the checkpoint shot and killed him. The policewoman was not hurt.
